Colerain Elementary Update

We are writing to provide an important update regarding recent changes to the Colerain Elementary facility. Over the summer, our contractors addressed the issue of the building's delaminating (moving) bricks. As a result, the fencing and scaffolding that were installed as protective barriers during this work will be removed this afternoon. Our engineers and architects have confirmed that the building is safe, and the barrier is no longer needed.

Several additional improvements have been made to ensure the safety and functionality of the building:

  • Contractors installed 750 additional pins within the building’s structure to minimize any future movement of the brick façade.

  • The scaffolding and fencing surrounding the building have been removed.

  • Protective boards on the windows have been taken down, and the new windows are now fully installed, visible and accessible.

  • Air conditioning window units have been reinstalled, allowing teachers to regulate classroom temperatures as students return to school.

NWLSD Administration continues to work closely with the Colerain Elementary Leadership Team to monitor the building and address any future needs or concerns. We remain committed to keeping our staff and families informed throughout the school year.

Thank you for your understanding and patience during this process. We wish our Colerain Elementary staff, students and families a fantastic school year!
