The Centralized Enrollment Office is located at the Houston Educational Service Center, 3310 COMPTON ROAD. Office Hours are 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. We are closed from 12:00 to 1:00 for lunch. You can reach us at 513-522-6700 ext. 7.

Intra-District Transfer Applications

Northwest Local School District Request For Student Intra-district Transfer Intra-district Enrollment Guidelines

Application appointments for the 2024-2025 school year will be available in an electronic format beginning March 26, 2024. Appointment times start April 9, 2024 and ends April 30, 2024.

The transfer of students out of their attendance areas shall be in accordance with the Northwest Local School District Intra-District enrollment policy and administrative procedures. Applications will be completed by the custodial parent/guardian at their appointment time at the Transfer Office located at 3310 Compton Road (across the hall from the Enrollment Center). Applications will not be accepted after the last appointment available on April 30, 2024. Notification letters will be mailed by June 21, 2024.

 
Application Criteria

  • Parents must be permanent residents in Northwest School District.

  • Guardians must be permanent residents of Northwest School District and the child(ren) must live with their guardians in Northwest School District.

  • If transferred, students must attend the school of choice for the entire school year.

  • Transfers are granted for one year. Parents/guardians must reapply annually.

 Review Criteria

  • Transfer requests are reviewed under the following criteria: The number of spaces available in each school is determined by building, grade and program capacities.

  • Student’s discipline and attendance records: Transfer approvals will be determined by a lottery if applications outnumber available spaces.

  • Transportation to the school of choice will be provided under the following conditions:
     

Students must be picked up and dropped off on the regular bus routes and stops in the school of choice attendance area.

Buses serving the school of choice must have space available. Parents must take application directly to the Transportation Department on the form received when the transfer is granted (included in the notification letter).

Preschool Enrollment

  1. Click below to download our preschool enrollment registration packet. Due to COVID-19 we have made changes to our process. All families must schedule an appointment. Appointments can be made by calling 513- 385-8000.

All preschool registration packets must be filled out and returned in-person. The 2024-2025 Packet will be available in early April.

2024-2025 Kindergarten Enrollment

Face mask are optional.  We are taking all precautions we can to provide you and our staff with a safe environment to meet in person to finalize the enrollment of your child(ren). 

This office is a one-stop location for your enrollment needs. New students in Kindergarten through Grade 12 will be enrolled at this location. Parents can access Online Enrollment by clicking on the link below. Parents wishing to enroll in Pre-school need to call the Houston Early Learning Center at 513-385-8000 to get information on how to complete an enrollment.

Note that your student will not be enrolled until ALL of the documents and forms listed below are received.

Enrollment Documents You Will Need To Bring

What to bring with you to enroll a student (items in bold are required): 

  • Parent/Guardian Current Photo ID

  • Name and Address of previous school

  • Birth Certificate, Passport, Hospital Birth Records, Immigration Documents - required for all students.  An ORIGINAL birth certificate is required for all Kindergarten students and students enrolling in an Ohio school for the first time. (Kindergarten students must be 5 by September 30, 2024)

  • Proof of Custody - proof of marriage, Custody agreement/court order if separated or divorced, court-ordered guardianship if student resides with someone other than biological parent, Grandparent Power of Attorney. 

  • Proof of Residency - business mail (delivered by USPS within last 30 days) for homeowners.  Current commercial lease if renting from a company. If renting private property, current notarized residency affidavit with owners' proof attached and current business mail (delivered by USPS within last 30 days) in the name of the parent/guardian. No online document accepted for proof of residency! (Please refer to the checklist at the end of the online registration for specific documents required.)

  • Current report card for grades 1-9. 

  • Transcript and/or current schedule from previous school is mandatory for 10th, 11th and 12th graders.

  • Health Records received from the previous school will be reviewed to keep within the guidelines for school enrollment.

  • Copy of the most recent IEP, MFE/ETR or 504 Plan (If applicable)
