Northwest Local School District Proudly Welcomes Cindy Herald as a Supervisor of Special Education

Northwest Local School District (NWLSD) is proud to welcome Mrs. Cindy Herald as a Supervisor of Special Education. Mrs. Herald is an experienced educational leader with over five years of classroom experience as an Intervention Specialist in both the Knoxville City School and Cincinnati Public School systems. She later transitioned into administration, dedicating three years to special education within Knox County Schools, located in Knoxville, TN. Most recently, Mrs. Herald served as the Supervisor for Instructional Specialists at the Hamilton County Educational Service Center, where she spent the past six years enhancing instructional practices, systems, and processes.

Outside of work, Mrs. Herald enjoys spending time with her family. She and her husband, along with their three boys, love traveling, gardening, and hiking. She also finds relaxation in watching her favorite TV shows and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.

Mrs. Herald has a strong passion for teaching reading, working collaboratively with stakeholders, and continuing her own learning. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Mount St. Joseph University (2011) and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Cincinnati (2008).

“We are thrilled Mrs. Herald has joined our Northwest Local School District family,” said Chevonne Neal, Director of Special Education. “We know she will be an asset in helping our district meet the needs of our special education students and their families.”
