Northwest Local School District Proudly Welcomes Joe Newman as the New Assistant Principal of White Oak Middle School

Northwest Local School District is proud to welcome Mr. Joe Newman as the new Assistant Principal of White Oak Middle School. Mr. Newman’s journey in education began in the classroom as a 7th-grade math teacher. It later led him into administration, where he served as the Assistant Principal of Culture and Community at Gilbert A. Dater High School. He went on to become the Principal of the Hamilton County Educational Service Center.

Throughout his career, Mr. Newman has used empathy, compassion, and trauma-informed learning to build relationships and help students become lifelong learners. He has enjoyed collaborating with experts, using quality data to drive initiatives to fruition, and helping students achieve their full potential.

Mr. Newman is supported by his loving wife of nearly 20 years, five children, and three grandchildren. He finds peace spending time with his family by the pool, enjoying "wind therapy" on his motorcycle, and adventuring with his wife to discover the hidden gems of the area.

“I am excited to take this next step in supporting the staff, students, and families at White Oak Middle School as we guide students towards greatness with a unified mission and vision,” said Mr. Newman.

Mr. Newman will step into the position on August 1, 2024.
