Northwest Local School District Proudly Welcomes Dr. Alexander Shrewsberry as the Principal of Northwest High School
Dr. Alexander Shrewsberry has spent the most recent part of his career teaching and leading in the Watts community of Los Angeles, CA for the past 7 years. Starting as a special education teacher, he gained expertise supporting students with emotional and behavioral needs, also the focus of his doctoral research. Through this role he served as a leader on many committees within his school and district, while also presenting at conferences and workshops across the country. As an Assistant Principal he focused on ensuring academic growth, expanding opportunities through community partnerships, and sustaining a safe and welcoming school environment.
At Northwest High School Dr. Shrewsberry will bring joy to the campus everyday while continuing growth through the accountability and involvement of all stakeholders. He hopes his commitment to Northwest High School impacts not only teachers, students and families; but the community as a whole. His values of equity, integrity, and “visibility” will continue to guide him through his leadership.
In his free time he loves spending time with his wife Victoria, 3 year old daughter and 2 year old son. This time is spent playing and watching sports, traveling and visiting other family.
